Hey!!!! So the wait is over and its time to rock with David Cook, with his debut album. This is not hidden from anybody that he has joined 19 Recordings\ RCA Recordings after winning American Idol. Now these guys have thrown some light over Cook’s new upcoming album. It’s coming on November 18, 2008. It means, on this New Year celebration, you will rock on David Cook’s taps and beats. Get ready for a musical new year.

I know David Cook had released an album before participating in American Idol as well. But this will be his first mainstream album. I hope this will also be able to touch the strings of your heart, like the previous album ‘Analog Heart’.

Do you know one interesting thing about this guy? He came to American Idol auditions to support his half brother Andrew, who insisted that David should also try his luck in auditions and the luck fairy spread her charm over David. Andrew didn’t get selected for Hollywood round, but David made to it. And no need to tell about rest of his journey to American Idol crown.

He had a tough childhood as well as youth. During his childhood, his Parents’ divorce and his father’s second marriage disturbed him a lot and threw him into the lap of music to wipe his tears. It was then that a musician and a singer took his first step. He struggled and struggled to achieve an identity in the music world. He performed with bands, in parties and other occasions in the hunger of fame and to make both ends meet. Finally he got succeeded in that with releasing his first album Analog Heart.

Now his hard earned fame has made it an obligation for him that he has to work hard to sooth his fans’ ears. His new albums first single will be ‘The Time of My Life’. As per the previews, the song is not gonna do that blast as expected. But being a fan I don’t trust these critical previews and I have faith that if its David’s voice then it’s gonna be perfect hit. Secondly, an album’s success can’t be judged on the basis of a single. I am desperately waiting for its release and let me check on You Tube as well. May be I can get a bit of that in advance.

Wanna rock again???? Wanna have musical nights once again?? Chill, Chill. American Idol is on the way. In fact, very close to us. The auditions are over now and I hope they have got those precious pearls and now they are polishing them to shine into your eyes. So a little wait is fair. Right? With a new light of New Year, we are gonna get glimpse of our probable future singing star.

This time, auditions began on July 17 from San Francisco and ended up at East Rutherford, New Jersey. The upcoming season will show a few drawn out audition episodes along with a half hour result show. So get ready. You will get opportunity to watch the world’s best singers and of course, those ones also who shouldn’t come for auditions and should give a second though to their singing ambitions. Aaah you grabbed it. Cool!

This time the competition is gonna be tougher for the contestants, because now there will be four judges, so obviously four different opinions. Hey I am pretty curious to watch those drawn- out episodes. It will be fun watching argumentation of four people over one performance instead of three like before.

The fourth judge is Kara DioGuardi, she is a record producer as well as a songwriter. She has given words to many America Idol winners’ voice. I am not sure but I suppose she was a judge for another reality show, which lived for short period. Her songs get nominated for several prestigious awards. Well, I just wish that success has not gone to her head. I am afraid of female Simon Cowell, I swear.

Here is another shaking news about the new season. The executive producer of the show, Nigel Lythgoe has announced that he is gonna leave American Idol as he has some other job to do at another reality show “So You Think You Can Dance”. I just wish him good luck and pray that this time he will steer his show away from controversies, especially after the announcement of winners. Remember, after season two there was a buzz that voting phone lines got stuck during finale and millions of votes couldn’t be received and everybody expressed doubt over the victory of Ruben Studdard.

American Idol is a hit American reality show for the search of young singing talent. As its full title in the first season was ‘American Idol-The Search for a Superstar’, the show is aimed at finding out the best singer in the country.

Nationwide auditions are arranged for the purpose. Judges give their judgment about contestants’ performances and even criticize very harshly sometimes. Once, judges told a female contestant to sue her music teacher whom she was learning from, for the last 3-4 years.

In later stages of the competition, the runners up and winners are chosen through public voting by phone. Eliminations in every round, too, are decided by public vote.

The four judges are Randy Jackson (Record Producer), Paula Abdul (Pop Singer and Choreographer), Simon Cowell (Music Executive and Music Manager) and Kara Dioguardi (Singer/ Song Writer and Record producer). Ryan Seacrest is the current host of the show, though comedian Brian Dunkleman co-hosted with Ryan during the first season. Rickey Minor, is the ‘American Idol Band’ leader.

The show has seen seven seasons till now and eighth season is set to air in 2009. The seventh season started on January 15, 2008 and the winner was announced in finale on May 21, 2008.

‘American Idol’ was basically started as the spin off of the ‘Pop Idol‘, the British reality show. It appears on Fox TV. Here is a very interesting story behind its selection on Fox TV. Initially, this show was rejected by Fox Broadcasting Network and other networks. But daughter of Rupert Murdoch (Head of Fox’s parent Company) was a huge fan of ‘Pop Idol’, so she cajoled her father to buy this show. Hence, this show got a host channel and debuted on June 11, 2002.
